Richard Lee Zimmerman II “Rich” was born in Culver City, California on January 21, 1961. On August 23, 2025 he passed peacefully fulfilling his desire to meet Jesus at his home in Chillicothe, Ohio.

Richard is survived by two sons, Richard Lee Zimmerman III, and Clay Evan (Maggie) Zimmerman who he loved and was so proud of the men they became; two sisters Leona Clapman Gleason and Toni Allsup; plus cousins he loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Geneva “Gayle” Zimmerman, and brothers Robert and Steve Zimmerman.

Rich will be missed by many including his childhood friends in Simi Valley, California and Ohio riding buddies where he lived as an adult.

Richard had a lifelong love for bikes and motorcycles which he shared with many over the years.

Richard worked mainly as a truck driver. He spent his last few years riding and often camping in Wayne National Park.

Rich lived life to the fullest, and those that knew him also knew he used up his “9 lives” long ago. Brain surgeries, motorcycle/dirt bikes, drinking with his buddies, and a deer collision were just a few of those events. Unfortunately, Rich had unhealthy habits which affected those he loved and claimed his life. He looked forward to the birth of his first grandchild, Opal, in November and will enjoy watching over her.

There will be a Memorial service at a later date, it will be posted on his Facebook page.

Thank you to those who prayed for Rich, and Adena Hospice which provided the care for him to pass in his home.
