Richard T. Zuvich, of Philadelphia passed away peacefully on December 3rd, 2024, at the age of 82. He was the beloved husband of 61 years to Shirley (Nee Leo); Dear father of Richard (Aleksandra), Gregory (Jennifer), Lisa (Robert). Beloved PopPop to his Grandchildren, Chelsea (Michael), Sydney (Gage), Jake (Alexis), Jared, Sarah and Rachel. Beloved Great PopPop to Lucas Michael. Cherished brother of Anthony Zuvich (Anna), and the late Esther Sirola.
Richard was born and raised in Port Richmond Neighborhood of Philadelphia by his parents Antonio Zuvich and Catherine Crusich Zuvich. He was a graduate of St. Anne's Elementary School and North Catholic High School. Richard and Shirley met during High School and enjoyed 61 years of Marriage building a family filled with Love and Laughter. Everyone who met Rich, were drawn to him immediately, and loved him. When you spoke to Rich it was apparent how much he loved his Family, Friends, and Philadelphia Sports. Especially, the 76ers, he would argue Wilt Chamberlain was the greatest of all time. Rich also enjoyed playing basketball well into his 60's, and was an avid Chess player. He loved his Bombay Sapphire martini's "Shaken not Stirred, Three olives". Maybe his greatest love of all besides Family and Friends was Neil Diamond.
Rich started his career at Bayock Cigars in Philadelphia. He dedicated most of his professional life to the Burlington County Department of Public Safety, where he served as a Senior Systems Programmer. His commitment to his work was unwavering and he was respected by colleagues, and made lifelong friends while working there.
Despite a long battle with Parkinson's Disease, Rich faced his challenge with courage and grace inspiring those around him with his resilience and strength.
Family and friends are invited to Rich's life celebration December 12th 9:00am-11:00am at Givnish's of Cinnaminson, 1200 route 130 N. Services will follow at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Samaritan Hospice (www.samaritannj.org/giving/donate-now) or The Parkinson Foundation c/o www.parkinson.org. Rich's legacy of love and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
