Rick Freeman, 70, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, at St. Peter’s Hospital in Olympia, WA, surrounded by family. He was born on December 31, 1954, in South Bend, WA, to Rance and Marie Freeman. Rick grew up in Raymond, WA, where he shared many fond memories of childhood adventures with his siblings and friends.

Rick was known for his love of the outdoors and his active lifestyle. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, water skiing, and snow skiing. After his accident he found joy in riding his bike and even doing the Seattle to Portland ride a few times. He took pride in taking care of his property. He was an avid sports fan and athlete and often told stories about his participation in a Guinness Book of World Records softball game — one of his favorite memories to share.

Rick’s greatest joy came from time spent with his family and friends. Rick mastered the art of the well-timed comeback and had a mischievous smile that usually meant he was about to say something smart — and just a little sarcastic. With his dry humor and quick wit, he always knew how to make people laugh and see the lighter side of life. His presence brought comfort and laughter to all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rance and Marie Freeman; his sister, Linda Freeman; and his brother, Pink Freeman.

He is survived by his loving wife, Vicki Freeman; two daughters, Missy Keys and D-Anna Price (Josh); and six cherished grandchildren: Baylee, Joshua, Haizyl, and Byntlee Price, and Jordyn and Zander Keys. He is also survived by his siblings: John (Susan) Freeman, Den (Kim) Freeman, Cathie (Jerry) Raugust, Tom (Sheryl) Freeman, Mike (Jodi) Freeman, and Phil (Briana) Freeman; and by his sister-in-law, Kristi Freeman.

Rick’s memory will also live on in the hearts of his many nieces and nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of very close friends who loved him dearly.

A celebration of Rick’s life will be held on Saturday September 27th at 2pm at the Swiss Hall in Frances, WA. All are welcome to come and share stories, hugs, and love in honor of a life well lived.
