Obituary of Allen Lewis Freeman

Allen Lewis Freeman, age 72, of Morris, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at The Grove of La Grange in La Grange Park, IL.

He was born on August 30, 1953, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Jimmie L. and Ida Mae (Green) Freeman, and attended Baldwin Community School in Michigan. Allen was a veteran of the United States Navy. During his time in the service, he was able to experience crossing the Equator seven times. He was proud to be a U.S. citizen and had a special fondness of Bald Eagles. Allen found enjoyment in traveling, boxing, fishing, hunting, and working out. He was an avid supporter of the Olympics and had a passion for motorcycles and semi trucks. Allen could often be found taking trips to downtown Chicago and exploring the city. Those who knew Allen knew that his love of Soul Food ran deep in his roots.

Allen is survived by his beloved children, Sprinkles (Jonathan), Brittany (Lavelle), Allen, Angela, and Curtis; his adoring grandchildren, Shawn, Devion, Milliani, Taneice, Denise, and Caden; his dear siblings, Cynthia Powell, Alta Freeman, and Uncle Cat Green; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Jimmie Freeman, Deyoka Freeman, Hollie, and E. Freeman.
