Rick Gajus Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Neidhard-Minges Funeral Home - Harrison on Dec. 20, 2024.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rick R. Gajus on December 17, 2024. Rick was born on September 23, 1952 to Robert and Jean Ries Gajus. Growing up in Blue Ash, his childhood fostered his love for all sports, especially baseball and golf. He was also a proud boy scout. After attending St. Savior grade school and Moeller High, he graduated from Miami University of Oxford. With a master's degree in Art Education, Rick began his lifetime career at William Henry Harrison High School. As a teacher, and head of the Art Department, Rick shared his incredible artistic talent with passion and dedication.
He also served as the school's golf and baseball coach as well as the Athletic Director. In later years, he took on the respected role of Vice Principal. During his summer months and in retirement, Rick continued his love for the game of golf by working at Circling Hills Golf Course. Above all, he was blessed with amazing artistic talents in watercolor, drawings, and batik paintings.
Rick was a loving husband to Carol Carver Gajus. Father of Jessica (Rob) Mathews, Jimmy (Kelli) Early, Joe (Michelle) Harris, David (Melissa) Harris, and Rachel (Joe) Withrow.
Devoted grandpa to Robby, Joey, and Sarah Mathews, Avery and Gabby Ann Early, Erica and A.J. Harris, Ryan, Parker, and Ella Harris, and Madison and Isaiah Withrow. Dearest brother of Cheri and her husband, Bob Schuh, and loving uncle to Traci Garner and Tara Litmer.
Throughout his life, Rick was blessed with many wonderful friendships. He will be forever missed by everyone who had the pleasure to know and love him.
We will celebrate Rick's life on Saturday, December 28, 2024. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. and Words of Remembrance starting at 3:00 p.m. at
Neidhard-Minges Funeral Home, 10385 New Haven Road, Harrison, OH 45030.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rick Gajus Memorial Art Scholarship at any 5/3 Bank location to benefit a graduating senior from William Henry Harrison High School.
