Rick E. Huff

Richard "Rick" E. Huff, 79, of Ft. Madison, IA, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 9:20 AM at his home.

He was born on October 23, 1946 in Farmington to Lionel and Aileen Stotts Huff. On July 24, 1966 he married Sharon Anthony in Ft. Madison and she passed away on March 20, 2024. He served in the US Army from 1966-1969. Rick was a member of Harmony Bible Church; he and Sharon were active members and their faith for their church was well known. Rick worked for Fruehauf, BNSF, First Miss and for Sinclair Oil and retired from there after thirty years of service. He enjoyed traveling to visit family, woodworking, tinkering on almost everything and working on cars. Rick purchased a 1939 Ford in 1964 and just recently got his loved vehicle back on the road. He was an avid racing fan and loved spending time with his family and friends, especially kids.

Survivors include two sons, Nick (Shelley) Huff of North Richland Hills, TX and Lance (Tammy) Huff of Shepherdsville, KY; eight grandchildren, Nicole Schukow, Brandon Palmer, Baustin Quillen, Beux Quillen, Brielle Quillen, Heinze Huff, Rylan Huff and Griffin Huff; seven great grandchildren, Dimitri, Anya, Addison and Logan Schukow, Renly, Malcolm and Beckham Quillen; one sister, Linda (Thomas) Wagenknecht of Davenport and his mother in law, Betty Anthony of Ft. Madison and many great friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sharon and a brother, Jerry Huff.

The family will meet with friends from 10 AM until 12 PM on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The funeral service will follow at 12 PM at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Matt Mitchell officiating. The graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM at Greenglade Cemetery in Farmington with military honors provided by the Farmington American Legion Post 231.
