Robert “Rick” Alexander McDade, 72, of Etters, PA, entered eternal life on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. He was the son of the late Dorothy Eshelby (Mike) and the late Robert B. McDade, born on November 22, 1952, in Morgantown, WV.
Rick is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Tina; a daughter and son, Kelly Jo McDade and Robert A. McDade II (Lindsey), both of Etters; two beautiful granddaughters who were the highlight of his life, Kiley and Layla; siblings, Rebecca, Richard, Robin, Rochelle and Ronald; many nieces and nephews, and a large extended family.
Rick was an avid sportsman. He loved to hunt, fish and boat on the river. He was also a life member of the Northern York County Game and Fish Association. In his later years, he enjoyed bingo, small games of chance, playing cards and cracking jokes—and that’s when you heard his infectious laugh. He was also a diehard Raiders and Phillies fan.
Throughout his career, Rick worked in farming, on the railroad, and in pool installation. He later specialized in excavation as a heavy equipment operator, retiring from Liberty Excavators in 2012.
Rick’s family would like to thank the nurses at Fresenius Kidney Care, Newberry, for the genuine care and support they provided throughout his dialysis treatments.
A public viewing will take place from 10AM-12PM on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. A graveside service will immediately follow in Tri-County Memorial Gardens, Lewisberry.
Please consider making a contribution in Rick’s name to the American Diabetes Association.
