James Richard “Rick” Miller, 60, passed away on January 17, 2025. He was born November 11, 1964, to James G. and Berdean Whitley Miller in Lynnwood, California. Rick graduated from Sweet Home, Oregon High School in 1983.
Rick married Laurie Jeannette McAllister on March 25, 1989, in Lebanon Oregon. Together they were blessed with three sons, Christopher of Sweet Home, Oregon; J. Todd of Ogden, Utah; and Nicholas Miller of Hurricane, Utah.
Rick worked in the lumber industry.
Rick lived in California, Oregon, and then Utah. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed being a Boy Scout Leader and serving with the young adults. He loved to hunt, camp, fish, travel, ocean bottom fishing, and most of all spending time with family and helping on the family ranches.
Rick is survived loving wife of 35 years, Laurie; sons, Christopher (Holly), J. Todd (Stephanie) and Nicholas (Angela); four grandchildren, Larue, Wendy, Alexander and Zayla; and sisters, Carrie Beler, Shirlene (David) Easling, and Crystal (Rick) Crain. He was preceded by his parents, Brother-in-law Jack Beler
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Liberty Cottages Ward, 880 Harrison Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the church. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery. Services entrusted to Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary.
