Rick Robertson, 64 of Mattoon, IL passed away at 5:13 PM on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his children.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main St., Arcola, IL. Burial will follow in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, August 29, 2025 at the funeral home.
Rick was born on October 10, 1960 in Tuscola, IL, a son of Delbert Edwin and Ann (Curry) Robertson. He married Cheri Ann Price on January 19, 2006 in Charleston, IL, she passed away on April 13, 2025.
He is survived by five children Adam Robertson and his wife Lisa of Charleston, IL, Tabithia Wilcoxen of Mattoon, Dallas Robertson of Charleston, IL, Zachary Robertson and his fiancé Melanie Gawel of Mattoon, IL and Rikki Arnold and her husband Kevin of Dayton, OH, seven grandchildren, Ethan and Evan Robertson, Ivie Edwards and Zayden Wilcoxen, Emily Robertson, Alexander Robertson, and Ophelia Arnold, four siblings, Barbara Chumbley and her husband Dale of Galton, IL, Duane Robertson of Humboldt, IL, Jeanie Reynolds and her husband Kenneth of Clearmont, FL, and Don Robertson and his wife Lora of Danville, IL.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Cheri, a sister, Ann Loraine Robertson, and a brother, Randy Robertson.
Rick drove a semi for 32 years. Prior to that he worked as a truck mechanic, he owned and operated a sanitation business, Worth While Sanitation, serving Douglas County, IL for nearly 10 years.
He enjoyed tinkering in his garage. Rick could fix anything, he liked working on small engines, lawn mowers, weed eaters, anything with a motor. Rick liked to watch classic TV, Green Acres, The Munsters, and The Andy Griffith Show, just to name a few.
Rick had a great sense of humor, he constantly making his children laugh. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
