Rickey Black Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Simpson Funeral Home - Webb City on Feb. 28, 2023.
Rickey A Black, age 63 of Carterville, passed away on February 24, 2023. He was born on November 1, 1959 to Herbert (Bob) & Siglinde (Wagner) Black in Fort Ord, California.
Rick loved to travel the world and worked in the concrete business for most of this life. He was a bus driver for the past 4 years for the Carl Junction School District. He adored his family and was a loving husband and father. He dabbled in grilling and smoking meats in his free time, something the family enjoyed alongside him. As a 'jack-of-all-trades', Rick was treasured by those who loved him. His laughter, smile and warm personality will be missed by so many.
He married the love of his life, Martha (Rehne) Black, on November 9, 2013 and she survives him. He is also survived by his children, Barbie Cochran and husband Dave of Carl Junction, Melissa Cantrell and husband Mike of Carl Junction, Jillian Maifert and husband Jason of Frisco, Texas, Emily Cantrell of Richardson, Texas; a brother, Mike Black and wife Melanie of Rice, Texas; grandchildren, Landon, Kalee, Hunter, Hannah, Lucas, Quentin, Izabella, Zoe; and a great grandchild, Braylee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob & Jo Black and Siglinde Wagner.
Rick had requested to be cremated and a celebration of life will take place on March 25, 2023.
