Rickey Nelson Richardson aka Ricky, Rick, Ricky, or Slick Rick passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024 in Odessa, TX.
Visitation will be from 1pm-9pm on October 4th at the Martinez Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 11:00am, Saturday, October 5th at the Martinez Funeral Home.
He will be greatly missed by all his family, friends, and loved ones.
Rickey Nelson Richardson was born in Monroeville, Alabama to Ralph and Eloise Richardson on August 8, 1962. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Rickey had several tours, he was stationed in Germany for 4 years. During the time he was stationed there, he was fighting in the Gulf War during the Dessert Storm war. He retired in 1992 from the United States Army. During his time serving in the Army, he was awarded with the Kuwait Liberation Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Marksman badge rifle M-16, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 3 bronze stars, and various other awards.
His pride and joy were his two children, his friends, and his family members.
Rickey Nelson Richardson is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, the late, Carrie Richardson affectionally known as Maw, the late Sylvester and Elnora Taite; his parents, the late Ralph and Eloise Richardson; his sister, the late Gwendolyn Faye Richardson-McMillian; his brother, the late Bobby Charles Richardson; sister-in-law, the late Stephanie Lewis; brother in law, the late Tony Johnson; mother-in-law, the late Maggie Jean Lewis
