Funeral services for Rickey Max Pendleton, 73, will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 305 Jefferson St., Mansfield, Louisiana. Burial will follow at St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery in Stonewall, Louisiana. A Bereavement Dinner will be served immediately after the burial in the Church Hall. A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with 7:30 p.m. being the start of the Prayer Service, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Father Mark Franklin.
Rickey was born on July 29, 1951, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Max and Nelwyn Pendleton and passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025, in Stonewall. Rickey was a 1970 graduate of Fair Park High School. He was married for 22 years to the love of his life, Laura Pendleton. He loved spending time with his family, his buddies at the Whitetail Hunting Club, and his lifelong and newer friends. He never met a stranger.
Rickey was a member of St. Ann’s Men’s Club and enjoyed cooking for all the activities, including the fish fries, charbroils and any other occasions the church needed. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the ACTS Retreats.
Rickey is preceded in death by his parents, Max and Nelwyn Pendleton; sisters, Clarece Richardson and Patricia Reed; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Paul and Freddie Spohrer. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Laura; son, Shaun Pendleton and wife, Ashley, son, Mark Pendleton and wife, Jessica; stepson, John David Wallace and wife, Kalli; stepdaughter, Kelly Cobb and husband, Jason; grandchildren, Taylor Cobb, Natalie Cobb, Briley Pendleton, Laylen Wallace, John-Preston Wallace, Max Pendleton, Wyatt Pendleton, Myles Pendleton, Aly Pendleton, and Waylon Pendleton.
Honoring Rickey as pallbearers will be Shaun Pendleton, Mark Pendleton, Dusty Wadsworth, John Collins, Taylor Cobb and Danny Gilcrease. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Ken Canatella, Val Clary, Mack McLaughton, and Joby Maniscalco.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to St. Ann’s Catholic Church Building Fund, c/o St. Joseph Catholic Church, P.O. Box 760, Mansfield, Louisiana 71052 or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
