Wilma Pendleton, age 98, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, went home to be with her Lord on January 30, 2026, in York, South Carolina.
She was born on July 31, 1927, in Lowry's, South Carolina, to the late Dorcas and Gus Hall Brakefield. Wilma spent the greater part of her life in Rock Hill, South Carolina, where she shared a devoted marriage of 63 years with her beloved husband, Bobby Pendleton, who preceded her in death. Their life together was rooted in love, faith, and quiet dedication to one another.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and three brothers. Wilma was a loving aunt to many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews, all of whom she cherished deeply.
Wilma retired after many years of faithful service with Rock Hill Printing & Finishing. A woman of deep and abiding faith, she was a long-time member of Oakland Baptist Church and the longest-living member at the time of her passing. She found great joy in serving the Lord, especially through her beloved work with the six-year-old children’s Sunday School class, where she lovingly taught children about God’s word.
She also enjoyed traveling to the mountains of Tennessee in the fall, where she delighted in the beauty of God’s creation and the changing colors of the leaves.
A visitation will be held on February 7 at 10:00 a.m. in the Parlor at Oakland Baptist Church, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 a.m. in the church chapel. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Rock Hill.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Music Department at Oakland Baptist Church,
1067 Oakland Avenue, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
Wilma will be remembered for her gentle spirit, steadfast faith, and the love she shared with her family, church, and all who knew her.
