Rickey Robinson

A memorial service remembering the life of Rickey Robinson will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with John Weems officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10 am until service time on Saturday the 16th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.

Rickey was born on January 29, 1951 in Springhill, LA and left his earthly home on Saturday, December 9th surrounded by his family and friends at the age of 72.  He dearly loved spending time with family.  Rickey was gifted at playing the guitar and enjoyed singing.  Some of his most cherished times were spent at his brother-in-law’s house in North Carolina.  He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time in his deer stand or on the bank of a pond fishing.  He possessed a green thumb and produced some of the best gardens around.  He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carmie Wells Robinson and Jack Dempsey Robinson; his siblings, Peggy Darlene Robinson, Larry Robinson and Gary Dewayne Robinson all of Sarepta; a sister-in-law, Virginia Robinson of Natchitoches; a nephew, Clinton Durr of Natchitoches, and a grandson, Zachary Robinson of Urania.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sandra Gourdon Robinson; children, Misty Renee Jordan (Greg), Jason Gourdon (Tiffany), and Nathan Gourdon; and a brother Jacky Robinson.  He was blessed with 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
