Rickie Lynn Griffith, born on June 17, 1959 in Concordia, Kansas to parents Richard and Loretta (Austin) Griffith, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 16, 2026 after a journey with Frontal Temporal Dementia.
Rick lived in Culver most of his younger life and attended grade school at Culver, then completed High School education at Tescott Schools. He went to Salina Vo Tech for body work. Rick worked during high school and for a few years after on a farm near Lincoln, Kansas. He went to Minnesota for almost 2 years, working in cabinetry and construction. Then he came back to Culver and worked at Culver Elevator, when he met his wife, Sandy Sears (Barnum). He was married to Sandy in 1986. He then moved to be with her in McPherson and took a job at Lacy-Regehr Ford Motors in McPherson in the Parts Department. He was there until they moved to Salina in 2006 and then worked for Roberts Trucking and then with Sunflower Bank, where he was employed for 16+ years.
He always loved being involved in all family gatherings and activities, attending many soccer, basketball, volleyball, etc games. He was an excellent cook. And he always enjoyed cooking for family gatherings. In September of 2024, he was diagnosed with a terminal illness and spent the remainder of his days in Minneapolis Nursing Home. He committed his life to the Lord and was baptized in November of 2025.
He is preceded in death by his 1st born son, Robert Lee Griffith, born into Heaven on October 3, 1988 and his father Richard "Dick" Griffith on January 18, 2013.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy Griffith; son, Zach Griffith (Melanie) of Manhattan, Kansas; step-sons, CJ Sears (Nicole) of Shawnee, Kansas, Travis Sears (Katie) of McPherson, Kansas; proud Grampie of 11 grandchildren, Jordan, Jentry, Carter, Ava, Vivian, Jaykin, Jaxton, Gabe, Hudson, Brody, and Taryn; mother, Loretta Griffith of Concordia; sister, Glennis Hughes (Neal); brothers, James Griffith (Sherry) of Delphos, George Griffith (Denese) of Salina; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, friends, and loved ones.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 27, at 2:00 p.m. at New Community Christian Church, 530 E Cloud St, Salina.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Community Christian Church.
