Ricky Baines

Samuel Ricky Baines, age 69, of Gordo, AL died March 23, 2025 at his residence. Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Sunday, April 6, 2025 at New Hope Methodist Church in Gordo with Bro. Woody Jones officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jerri Lancaster Baines; his parents and grandparents and brothers, Jimmy Dan Baines and John David Baines.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Debra Kirk Baines; daughter, Leigh Ann Sherer (Michael); grandchildren, Jamison Kirk Williamson, Jacey Lynne Burns and Mikaela Noel Simmons (Blake); great-grandchild, Brantley Simmons; very special nieces, Sheri Boyington (Brian) and Sandi Wyatt (Heath); very special great-nieces, Ashley Baines, Allie Baines, Hailey Wyatt and Jenna Marie Wyatt; very special nephew, Shannon Baines (Sharon) and very special great-nephews, Austin and Aaron Baines and Bryson Boyington.
Ricky was born July 28, 1955 in Reform, Alabama to the late Joe William Baines and Doris Huff Baines. He was a member of New Hope Methodist Church and retired chief engineer for Parker Towing. We will all miss him, but none more than his loving wife and friend. Always in my heart and a piece of my heart is always with you.
Honorary Pallbearers are Gene Beard, Steve Connell, James Junkin, Randall Beams, David Nyberg, friends of Zion Community, a host of family and friends who could tell stories about Ricky, his fur babies, Joe, Cash, Gilby, Jasper and Charlie; he loved them all very much.
