Ricky Ray Burris, age 72, of Texarkana, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025. He was born on September 27, 1953, at Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, Texas.

He graduated from L.D. Bell High School in 1972, where he advanced to state competition in tennis. Ricky proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1975 to 1981, concluding his service in Mayport, Florida. He later retired from Red River Army Depot / Defense Logistics Agency in September 2015.

Ricky was known as an avid collector - from antiques to pocket knives - and could always be found discussing the Texas Rangers or the Dallas Cowboys.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Wade Burris, and his grandparents, J.W. & Sammye Burris and Bill & Freda Elliott.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Marsha Jeffus Burris of Texarkana, Texas; his mother, Freda Jean Burris of Hurst, Texas; his children, Kimberly Walker of Hooks, Texas, Jeremy Burris (Jennifer) of Hallsville, Texas, and Dee Ann Walker of Austin, Texas; and six grandchildren: Taylor, Harper, Lynlee, Ryan, Maebry, and Jet. He is also survived by his brothers, Randy Burris of Lewisville, Texas, and Ronnie Burris (Tahrahn) of Spring Branch, Texas, along with a host of family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Chapelwood Gardens.
