Obituary published on Legacy.com by Memorial Chapel of Richland on Jun. 21, 2023.
Ricky Everett Carroll was born April 21, 1971, in
Waynesville, Missouri to Roger A. Carroll and Shirley Jean (Roberts) Carroll. He lived out his life in Richland, graduating with the RHS class of 1989.
He worked at the Boat factory, H.D. Lee plant, Shade Tree-Tree Service, and also alongside his father from time to time. Ricky was currently employed with the City of Richland. He wasn't afraid to experience new tasks; and was always ready to provide service to the community through his job and often drove around to see if more repairs were needed.
Ricky was a very humble, loving, and caring person. He never knew a stranger and always managed to run into somebody he'd know wherever he traveled. Ricky was not a worldly guy; he didn't long to travel too far from home but managed to drive thousands of miles of course within a mile radius of his house. Many hours were spent driving looking at the countryside and watching for deer, turkey, or whatever he might see. He took life slowly and was never in a hurry. While on one of his nightly drives Ricky was driving slowly as he usually did and was soon outrun by a squirrel. He enjoyed the simple life. Family was greatly important to him as were his friends. He was laid back and carefree yet a caring man. His sense of humor was what kept smiles on everyone's faces.
Ricky lived life to the fullest. He greatly loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing, farming, helping with cattle, raking, and bailing hay. Ricky especially loved driving on the gravel roads, and listening to old style country music, and the classic Oldies. He drove a million miles and yet never went anywhere. Ricky's most recent bucket list was met when he went on his first helicopter ride. He might have been a little nervous at first but loved every minute of it; however still had no interest in flying out of his hometown.
Ricky looked forward to Sunday dinners each week where he and his family enjoyed one other's company. Lots of Cornhole games, with fun and laughter were had by everyone. He also enjoyed smoking meat. Ricky was very dedicated to visiting his mom in the Care Center and often brought her meals he'd cooked just to brighten her day.
Ricky passed away on the evening of Sunday, June 18, 2023 at his home in
Richland, Missouri, having attained the age of fifty-two years.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Willis, and Argie (Burgess) Carroll; his maternal grandparents, Clyde, and Bernice (Fritts) Roberts.
