Ricky Lynn Denton

 

Ricky “Rick-Ro” Lynn Denton, age 64 or White Pine passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 21, 2023. He was born September 18, 1959 at Milligan Clinic in Jefferson City, Tennessee. He is the son of the late Claude “Buck” and Martha Ellen Hazelwood Denton.

 

Over the last twelve years, Ricky enjoyed working on and racing his drag racing car. Many happy hours were spent with his grandson as he taught him about cars and how to work on them. Ricky also loved his time spent on the lake in his boat and the fishing expeditions with his son and his family.

 

He is survived by his son, David (Dee Dee) Denton; close friend, Amy Gibson; granddaughter, Teresa Denton; grandson, James Denton; brother, Jimmy Denton (Diane Charette) of Acworth, Georgia; sister, Glenda “Susie” Neal (JW Neal) of Powell; nephew, Michael (Laurie) Morris of Athens, Alabama; uncle, Ronnie (Carolyn) Denton. Special friends that were his racing, working, and fishing buddies-Doug Skeen, Richard Wolfe, and Jim Murphy. There are several great nieces and nephews along with a host of cousins.

 

A special thank you is extended to Dr. Kenneth Allum, Dr. Ernesto Mejia and Smoky Mountain Hospice for the care and kindness shown to Ricky during his illness. There are no services scheduled at this time.
