Richard Harrison Getsinger, age 67, of Belton, SC, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at his home with loved ones by his side.
Born April 25, 1957, in Belton, SC, he was a son of the late William Harrison Getsinger and Geraldine Stevenson Getsinger.
Ricky was a graduate of BHP High School Class of 1976 and retired from Michelin after 38 years of faithful service to the company. He enjoyed fishing, restoring cars, drag racing, was an avid league bowler, and Atlanta Braves fan. He was also a longtime baseball coach in the Cheddar community and was able to coach his boys in their youth. He enjoyed being a sparring karate partner with his son Eric and supported him in all of his tournaments. Ricky loved life! He loved to laugh and make people laugh, and he didn't see any reason to be in a bad mood.life is meant to be enjoyed! He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Marie Jenkins Getsinger; sons, Kevin Getsinger and Eric Getsinger (Alicia); granddaughter, Lacey Getsinger; loving brother, Harold Getsinger (Pam) and Joe Getsinger (Debbie); sister, Gerald Anne Evatt; a loving sister-in-law, Michelle Watson (Keith); and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 12:30-1:30 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm in the Chapel. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories in Belton.
