-Ricky Sheffield, a beloved member of the McRae community and a dedicated supervisor with Coca-Cola, passed away on November 11, 2024, in Macon, GA, at the age of 64. Born on January 9, 1960, in McRae, GA, Ricky was known for his always smiling demeanor and friendly spirit that touched the lives of many.
Ricky's career at Coca Cola reflected his strong work ethic and ability to connect with everyone around him. His colleagues admired him not only for his professional accomplishments but also for the warmth he brought into the workplace. Ricky’s professional journey was marked by dedication and passion, leaving a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Family was paramount in Ricky's life, and he took great pride in his loved ones, especially his grandson, Olen Lane. He cherished the moments spent with his family and was always eager to share stories and create memories with them. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Sheffield of Eastman, and his daughter, Nicole (Eric) Lane of Eastman. In addition, Ricky’s legacy includes three sisters: Henrietta (Jimmy) Scarborough of Milan, Joanne (Henry) Vaughn of McRae, and Mattie Peacock of Lizella. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Henry A. Sheffield and Ethel Jump Sheffield, whose love and guidance shaped the man he became.
Visitation for Ricky Sheffield will be held on November 14, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 3:00, both at Vaughn Funeral Home located at 107 E. Oak Street, McRae, GA 31055. Burial will be at Sweet Home Baptist Church Cemetery, Chauncey.
In remembering Ricky, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with warmth, kindness, and a smile that could brighten the darkest days. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
