Ricky Thomas Sokolowski Sr.

Ricky Thomas Sokolowski Sr., age 65, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Barnett, Missouri, on November 27, 2025. He was born on July 23, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois. Ricky proudly worked for 32 years with the Tuckpointers Local 52 and Bricklayers Local 52 in Elmhurst, Illinois.

Ricky was not only a loving husband, but the best friend and soulmate of his wife, Maureen Sokolowski. He is survived by his children: Crystal Anne Sokolowski (Michael Reiser), Ricky Thomas Sokolowski Jr. (Laura Sokolowski), Melanie Anne Costlow, and Morgan Lee Webber. He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Michael Scott Costlow, Noah Thomas Costlow, Ella Jane Sokolowski, Jasper Quinn Sokolowski, and Elaine Divanny Sokolowski. He is also survived by his father, Roy Sokolowski (Joan), sister, Cheryl Sokolowski, and many nieces and nephews. Ricky was preceded in death by his mother, Curly Paul, and his sister, Patricia Sokolowski.

Ricky loved to fish and tinker in the garage. He enjoyed building and painting birdhouses and stepping stones, and he cherished his cats as well as the wild animals that visited the property. Most of all, Ricky loved his family-his grandchildren were his world. He was the very best Papa.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 10, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at The American Legion in Braidwood, Illinois, located at 553 W. Kennedy Rd., Braidwood, IL 60408.

Ricky will be deeply missed and forever cherished by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
