Ricky Anthony Taillon was born April 30, 1961 to Napoleon and Elsie Taillon in Port Sulphur, La. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his brother Kerry. He is survived by his brothers Marty (Terri), Dean (Danica), and Mark (Michelle), his sons Matthew (Jenifer) and Colin (Genevieve), and his granddaughter, Eleanore. The family he created and leaves behind was the centerpiece of his world, and will continue to carry his love in their hearts.
Ricky brought and distributed joy with him wherever he went. Whether it was from a conversation at the post office he worked at, or through his passion for photography, each moment with Ricky was one that was cherished and remembered. As a longtime resident and postmaster of Buras, La, Ricky carried the spirit of his hometown north to Belle Chasse, La in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. There, he helped establish the first steps of resilience for a grieving community.
Ricky, through both his career and his passion, adored these special moments. He would capture countless memories behind the lens of his camera for friends, family, and even total strangers. He enjoyed living life to the fullest, and while his charisma and smile shall be forever missed, his spirit and his place in our hearts can never be replaced.
Funeral services for Ricky will be held on Thursday, October 30th, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10:30am at St. Cletus Church, 3600 Claire Ave, Gretna, LA 70053, with funeral services to follow. Please direct all flower arrangements to St. Cletus.
