Ricky Anthony “Catfish” Young, 64, of Jennings, Louisiana, passed away peacefully in his home on February 1, 2025.
A gathering family and friends will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025, in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel, beginning at 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. until the time to depart for church at 9:30 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday February 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, with Father Miller officiating. He will be laid to rest in the St. Lawrence Community Cemetery, under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
Catfish was born on August 23, 1960, to Duplice (Joe) and Deanna Young. Whether it was hunting or fishing, he loved the outdoors passionately. He loved his family deeply and always loved spending time with them.
Left to cherish their memories of Catfish are his brothers, Danny (Suzanne) Young and Bernie Young; Nephew, Cody (Nicole) Young; great nephews, Cortlin (Macie) Young and Tate Lopez; great nieces, Abby young and Alix (Morgan) Schexnider; great great nephews, Beckett “Bucket” Young and Cohen Schexnider; and his great great niece, Lennon Guthrie.
Also left behind to remember him are, the Guinn family, Mark and Matt Guinn, and the employees of Guinn Construction.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family of Catfish would like to express their sincere appreciation to Mark Guinn, Caleb Guinn, Jenah LeJeune, Belinda, and his two sitters for their loving and compassionate care they have given him over the past years.
Carrying him to his final place of rest will be Cody Young, Cortlin Young, Tate Lopez, Mark Guinn, Matt Guinn and Caleb Guinn. The honorary pallbearer will be Dickie Sonnier.
