RICQUEL BRYANT BURGESS was born on February 1,1970 in Florence, South Carolina to his mother and best friend Bessie Mae Burgess and father Grady Burgess, Jr. He passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2024 at McLeod Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
“Ricky” or “Rock”, as he was affectionately known was a quiet and humble the shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God.
He graduated in 1988 from West Florence High School. He enrolled himself in Art classes for over a year.
He spent over twenty-four years in the Hospitality field in the Columbia, SC area. He then started a professional career in the Security Industry.
He met his Love, Pam in 2012 and they were married in 2016.
He had a remarkable gift for baking desserts and cooking delicious meals.
He was predeceased by paternal grandparents Grady Burgess, Sr. and Mable T. Burgess; maternal grandparents Isaiah Echols and Maella H. Echols.
He is survived by his loving and supportive wife Pamela Burgess of Irmo, SC; his only loving brother Deno Burgess of Florence, SC; His Parents, Bessie Mae Burgess and Grady Burgess Jr.; two nephews and one niece and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and special friends who shared his humble spirit.
His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him for the profound impact he had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
May his memory be a Blessing, and may we carry forth his legacy of love and compassion in all that we do.
