Age 99, of Richland Twp. formerly of Shaler Twp., on Sunday, September 21, 2025, Mrs. Ban was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Ban; mother of Sue Ban (Andrew Feild); daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Raber; sister of Mildred Raber Reinhardt (George Reinhart); grandmother of Claire and Nicolas Feild.
Rita was born in 1926 and raised in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. She met Joe Ban on a blind date arranged by his friend and future brother-in-law George Reinhardt. They wed in 1954 at St. Henry’s Church in Mt. Oliver, PA. They bought a house in the North Hills (Glenshaw to be exact) and lived there for the majority of their lives. Rita worked as a secretary for Duquesne Light until the birth of their daughter Sue in 1960. She loved to travel and to vacation at the beach with her family.
Her family would like to thank the special folks at St. Barnabus in Gibsonia for the wonderful care she received there for many years.
