Rita Marlene Branton age 71 of Franklinton, LA, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025, after a short battle with Cancer.
She was a 1972 graduate of America Academy, member of the Girls Basketball Team and Vice-President of the Junior Class. After moving to Franklinton, she began her career working in the lab at Dairymen, Incorporated until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Branton, Sr. and Bettie James Branton; brother, Tony Branton, and LaZell (Zell) James (Aunt).
She is survived by her son, Josh Branton of Franklinton, LA; two sisters, Jeannine Bickham (Karl) of Franklinton, LA, and Coleen Stewart (Randy), and a brother, Ralph Branton, Jr. (Jana) of Bogalusa, LA. Also survived by her nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She loved her collection of cookbooks, her cats and working in her yard. She cherished the lifelong friendships she made throughout her school years and while working at Dairymen.
Her family would like to thank St. Tammany Parish Hospital and Hospice Care for their guidance and expert care.
As per her wishes there will be no service.
