Rita Chase, age 75, passed away January 6, 2026. She was born November 16, 1950, to Sipriano and Geraldine (Yochum) DeSantiago in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Geraldine DeSantiago; her husband, Richard Chase; sister, Rhonda DeSantiago; and nephew, Jeremy White.
Rita is survived by her father, Syrup DeSantiago; brothers, Ric (Cindy) DeSantiago, Rory DeSantiago; eight nieces and nephews, Jaime White (Erin), DJ White (Diane), Andy DeSantiago (Jaime), Rachel DeSantiago, Melissa Bildt (Eric), Reubin DeSantiago, Ian DeSantiago (Abby), Aaron DeSantiago (Mallory); her cat, Bud; and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday, January 9, 2026.
Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Saturday, January 10, 2026. The family will direct memorials.

Rita and her parents and siblings lived across the street from my parents (Howard and Arlita Hunt). Those were wonderful years and we enjoyed being friends and neighbors. I am so very sorry for the loss of Rita.
