Rita Kay Frame, age 77 of Cowan, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Elk River Health and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loving family. A native of Franklin County, she was born in Sherwood on November 18, 1947, to the late Joel D. Haney and Bessie Lee Frame. A gifted seamstress, Rita had worked at Lanier, Tennessee Apparel, R and W Apparel, as well as Winchester Hat Factory before her retirement. She enjoyed shopping at yard sales and thrift stores and traveling to the Great Smoky Mountains. But most of all, she cherished the time spent with her family, especially all of her grands. Her sweet nature, mixed with a little bit of sassiness, made for a personality that was unforgettable…she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A woman of God, Rita was of the Pentecostal faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Patty Harper, Blanche Goff, Joe Haney, Jim Haney, and Alex Haney; daughter, Mona Mauer; son, Brad Pendergrass; and grandchild, Charles Maurer. Rita is survived by her loving children, Diane (Jerry) Jackson, Allen (Michelle) Pendergrass, and Melinda (David) Jackson; grandchildren, Chris, Corey, Sid, Patricia, Wendy, Jessica, Jennifer, Brittany, Diana, Dana, and Tiffany; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 12-2pm on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. George Sells officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens. Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, 300 First Ave NW, Winchester, TN 37398, (931)-967-2222, www.moorecortner.com.
