Rita Garrett Obituary
Rita Faye Garrett, age 77, of Monroe, GA., passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026. She was a member of Cross Plains Baptist Church. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Ara Stapler; siblings, N.W. Stapler, Edward Stapler, Mary Frances Stapler and Calvin Stapler; granddaughter, Casaundra Harris.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dow Garrett; children, Angela (Robert) Richert, Timothy Garrett; grandson, Cody Richter; siblings, Alton Stapler, Betty (Marcus) Garrett, Gene (Connie) Stapler.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Cross Plains Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Purcell, Rev. Sam Rickett and Rev. Tim Biddy officiating.
Interment will follow in the Cross Plains Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 12 noon until time of service at the funeral home.
