Rita Louise Kuth
Rita Louise Kuth, 77, of Aurora, passed away peacefully following a courageous battle with vascular dementia on Friday, October 13, 2023, at Essentia Health-Northern Pines in Aurora with her loving husband by her side.
Rita was born on July 5, 1946, to Joseph and Sophie (Prosnick) Brascugli in Virginia. She grew up in Aurora and attended Aurora-Hoyt Lakes High School, graduating from the Class of 1964. Rita took many years of piano lessons and could play beautifully. Following high school, she attended Bemidji State University. During her early years, she worked for KDAL and the State of Minnesota Highway Department in Duluth, where she subsequently met her husband, Karl Kuth. The couple were united in marriage on January 8, 1977, in Aurora. They lived in Gilbert until moving to Aurora in the late 1980's where they have resided ever since. After her children went off to school, Rita was hired as the Parish Secretary, Bookkeeper and Religious Education Director at the East Range Catholic Parishes for twenty-five years until her retirement. Rita enjoyed her work for the church and all of the parishioners she had the pleasure of interacting with. After retirement, she worked as a funeral director's assistant with her daughter for a short time before COVID, allowing her the opportunity to visit with some of her church friends again. Rita loved traveling with her family which took her to Japan, cruising the Bahamas, Niagara Falls and all over the US. Most recently, this past February, she and Karl took a road trip all the way to Florida and back. Rita's fun included trips to the casino, dancing, music, attending musicals and concerts, hosting holidays, and especially her family. According to her, Rita's greatest accomplishment and legacy is her two children of whom she could not have been more proud. Rita's family and her Catholic faith were the upmost important aspects of her life. Becoming "Nana" to Nathan, Sophie, Anthony and Eddie brought her the greatest joy of her life. Rita will be remembered for her kind heart, her generosity and her immense capacity to love.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Karl; daughter, Joey (Stanley) Nemec of Gilbert; son, Robert (Ikumi) Kuth of Blaine; grandchildren: Nathan and Sophia Nemec and Anthony and Edward Kuth; sisters: Sandra (James) Crowley of Woodbury and Carol (Ted Eastlund) Andresen of Hudson, Wis.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Brascugli; and her parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, October 20, 2023, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Aurora with Fr. Kristoffer McKusky celebrating. A visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Thursday with a recitation of the rosary at 5:45 p.m. at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora and will continue one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora.
