Rita Frances Lubanski

Rita Frances Lubanski (née Plecki), age 93, of Plainfield, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2026.

Born on July 28, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois, Rita was the beloved daughter of the late Stanislaw and Helen (née Cichoszewski) Plecki.

Rita is survived by her loving children, Diane (Robert) Lemke, Christine (Matthew) Moore and Paul (Kelly) Lubanski; her cherished grandchildren, Kristen Lemke (Bruce Sawyer), Brian (Aisling) Lemke, Allison Lemke, Patrick (Jessica) Moore, Nicole (Omar) Malpica, and Michelle Moore; great-grandchildren, Eleanor Lemke, Nora Moore, Cecilia Moore, Max Malpica and Luke Malpica. She is also lovingly remembered by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene V. Lubanski.

Rita's greatest joy came from being a devoted and cherished wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Caring for others was her calling. She was a devoted Catholic with a deep prayer life. Many were blessed by her endless prayers and wisdom. She was a treasure to her family and all who were touched by her kindness and compassion. Rita will live eternally in our hearts. Her love and guidance have blessed her family beyond measure.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 2003 Hassert Blvd., Naperville, Illinois. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Illinois.

Memorials in Rita's name may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital to honor Rita's love for children, especially those in need.
