With heartfelt sorrow, we announce the passing of Rita Elizabeth Mantas, who departed this life on June 21, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on May 25, 1947, to the late Sherman Missler and Irene (Kasper) Missler, Rita lived a life full of warmth, kindness, and grace.
Rita was the proud mother of two daughters, the late Lisa Mantas, and Kristine Robinson, who survives her with her husband Geoffrey Robinson. She was a devoted grandmother to Sydney and Blake Robinson, and her love and influence will live on in their hearts forever.
Rita shared a close bond with her siblings, Sherene Barilla and the late Dan Missler, with whom she cherished the joys of family life. She also held dear the memory of her beloved dog, Mala-Kai, and found delight in the simple joys of nature and animals-especially her favorite, the giraffe.
A hard-working and determined woman, Rita ran a small business and also worked in retail before her retirement. She especially loved the years spent owning a pet store, where her love of animals shone brightly. Outside of work, her passions came alive in her garden-surrounded by flowers, tending to her yard, and caring for her aquariums. She found peace in nurturing life, whether plant or animal, and her home was a haven of color and calm.
In the final chapters of her life, Rita lived for a year and a half with her niece, Laurie, during which time she was lovingly cared for and surrounded by family. She was especially grateful for the time spent with her brother Dan and his wife, Peggy-both of whom showed her deep devotion and compassion. Their care and companionship brought Rita great comfort before she later moved to live with her daughter Kristine and son-in-law Geoffrey, who continued to surround her with love and support.
Rita will be remembered most for her radiant smile, her gentle spirit, and the kindness she extended to everyone she met. Her daughters, her flowers, and her aquariums brought her immeasurable joy, and she found beauty in every bloom and creature she encountered.
Rita's memory will forever bloom in the hearts of her family and those who were blessed to know her.
