Rita L. Masselle

Rita L. Masselle passed away peacefully on April 8th, 2022 in her home in Langhorne, PA at the age of 85 with her loving family by her side. Rita is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years Donald, her sister Juliet, and her two brothers Maurice and Roger.
Rita is survived by her sisters Janet and Theresa, her three sons Steven Masselle and his wife Sharon, David Masselle and his wife Elise, and Thomas Masselle and his wife Kelly, along with her grandchildren Shayna Davis and her husband Mike, Skylar and Nicole Masselle, Rachel Masselle, Matthew and Andrew Masselle, and Great Grandchild Trystan Davis.
She was born in New Britain, Connecticut on September 17, 1936, to Odilon and Marie Lemelin. There she met the love of her life, Don, and moved to Bucks County in 1962. They raised their family in the Hedgerow Woods section of Falls Township and made lifelong friendships with neighbors by hosting bridge games and hanging out at the community pool.
They moved to the Edgebrook section of Yardley in 1978 and then to the Village of Flowers Mills in 2000. She enjoyed spending time at the Jersey Shore where she made great memories hosting family and friends at "Grandmom's Beach House".
Rita had a strong faith and was a wonderful, hard-working woman who sacrificed for her family. She began her career as a door-to-door saleswoman. Over the years, she worked her way into the position of CEO at a Credit Union and earned a seat on the Board of Directors. But most of all Rita was devoted to her family.
The family would like to express their gratitude to her caregiver, Battouly Sakho, for the compassionate and loving care she gave Rita over the past three and a half years.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 11:00am at St. John the EvangelistChurch, 752 Big Oak Road, Morrisville, PA 19067.Calling hours at the church will be from 9:30am to 10:45am. Interment will take place at 1:00pm at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940. Arrangements are under the care of the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, 17 S. Delaware Avenue, Yardley, PA 19067.
