Mrs. Rita G. Parrott

Mrs. Rita G. (Herzog) Parrott, 94, of Adams, died Thursday morning, December 10, 2015, at Williamstown Commons. She was born in Adams on May 4, 1921, a daughter of the late Herman and Almina (Royal) Herzog, and attended Adams schools, including the former Notre Dame Elementary School. Mrs. Parrott worked as a housekeeper for several prominent families throughout the area. She was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II in Adams, and was affectionately known as "The General" and "The Pie Lady". Her husband, Leon S. Parrott, whom she married on August 5, 1939, died on August 23, 1991. She is survived by 2 sons, Leon "Butch" Parrott, Jr. and his wife, Nancy; and James Parrott and his wife, Barbara, both of Adams; 5 Daughters, Patricia Bouchard and her husband, Clovis, of Pittsfield; Leona Meczywor and Debra Gigilotti and her husband, Andrew, both of Adams; JoAnne Pemberton and her husband, James, of Niskayuna, NY and Carol Keen and her husband, William, of Pittsfield; 25 Grandchildren, 34 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by 2 sons, Leander Parrott and Raymond Parrott; 3 Grandchildren, Lisa, Jeffrey and Tina Parrott; and the youngest of 13 children, she was predeceased by 8 sisters, Mildred Parkhurst, Lucille LeSage, Eva Rolland, Mabel LaCasse, Lucille Herzog, Lucy Herzog, Roma Wilson and Helen Kokindo; and by 4 brothers, Lawrence Herzog, Francis Herzog, Leo Herzog and Lawrence "Bucky" Herzog. The funeral will be held on Monday, December 14th, at 9:00 AM from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Adams, celebrated by Rev. Steven Montesanti, Pastor of the Parish of St. John Paul II. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Sunday from 2 to 5 PM at the funeral home.
