Rita Jayne Poitras, 75, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2026, surrounded by her loving children, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Above all, Rita will be remembered for her love of family, her warm spirit, and the memories she created with those who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
She is survived by her son, Brian (Mary) Poitras of Fort Wayne, Indiana; son, Jeff (Leah) Poitras of Phoenix, Arizona; and daughter, Sarah Poitras of Scottsdale, Arizona; her beloved grandchildren, Sierra, Delilah, and Miles; her sisters, Nancy (Tom) Edelen of Monroeville, Indiana, Janelle (Mike) Davis of Decatur, Indiana, and Becky (Allen) Barker of Wabash, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.
