Rita Estelle Redman

Rita Estelle "Mom Sis" Redman, 94, of Chestnut Street, Keyser, WV, died Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at the Moran Manor Nursing Home in Westernport, MD.
Born on November 1, 1928 in Piedmont, WV, she was a daughter of the late Willard and Clara (Campbell) Twyman. She also was preceded in death by her husband, William Reginald "Wink" Redman on April 5, 2011; a brother, Stewart "Stutz" Twyman, Sr. and a godson and nephew who was like a grandson to her, Todd Twyman.
Mrs. Redman was employed as a child care worker for many years and was a member of the Janes United Methodist Church, Keyser. She was named the Valentine Queen at Moran Manor in in February of 2023. She was an avid baker and was known especially for her delicious pies. She also enjoyed watching Turner Classic movies and old Westerns and faithful each in reading her Bible and devotions. Also, in her later years, she became fond and very adept in adult coloring books until her arthritis forced her to give that up.
Surviving are her two children, Tonia Y. Stephens of Washington, DC and William F. "Bill" Redman of Keyser; grandchildren, Shannon Jarman and husband Eddie and their children, Miles, Sara and Evan of Silver Spring, MD and Scott Redman and wife Donna and their children, Megan and Tod of Ruther Glen, VA; a special nephew, Stewart "Teddy" Twyman and his wife Diane and daughter, Tonya, of Keyser; a sister-in-law, Edna Fisher and her children and grandchildren of Columbus, OH and extended family members of the Brooks and Washington families.
Friends will be received at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted immediately following the visitation at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Mary Beth Jacobson officiating.
Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Janes United Methodist Church, 1 N. Church Street, Keyser, WV 26726 or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
The family also wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Moran manor Nursing Home for their kind, compassionate care of Mrs. Redman in her final days.
