Rita Ryan Obituary
Rita was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 17, 1929, attended St. Henry High School and raised her family in Lakeside Park and Fort Mitchell, KY.
Rita spent her entire life dedicated to her family as a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother. Her legacy is defined by her loving, caring spirit and great sense of humor.
She was a long-time Greater Cincinnati Ambassador greeting international travelers entering the United States and a volunteer at Mary Queen of Heaven Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Edward Ryan and brother George C Schmidt. Rita is survived by her brother Jerry Schmidt, daughters Jean Beck and Carol (Eric) Ernst and sons Michael (Diane) Ryan and James (Amy) Ryan, 9 grandchildren, and 13 great- grandchildren.
A memorial will be held at Mary Queen of Heaven Church, 1150 Donaldson Hwy., Erlanger, KY 41018 on June 16, 2023. Visitation with the family will begin at 10 a.m. followed by mass at 11 a.m.
Rita had directed that donations on her behalf should be sent to help her niece, Amy Steins, fight ALS. Donations should be sent via Venmo to @ALwayS-amystiens. Donations may also be made to St. Elizabeth Hospice.

My mother and our family had the pleasure of getting to know Rita in the past year at Madonna Manor where our mother Ruth Otto resides. Rita was a caring, sweet, person who obviously loved her family and lit up when they came to visit. Her kindness showed in her smile and demeanor and she is missed, but we know she is now in a wonderful place.

What a wonderful woman. Her and Jack were such a great couple! Rita always had a smile, and her laugh was contagious. Rest in Heaven with Jack.
