Rita Katherine Tate, 75, of Gainesville, Georgia, was born on April 7, 1950. She lived a life full of love, laughter, and service, leaving an indelible mark on her family, friends, and community. She passed away peacefully on February 15th, 2026.

Rita is survived by her daughter, Amber Lovell Ferguson of Oakwood, Georgia, and her grandchildren, Gavin Ferguson and Addison Ferguson. She also leaves her sisters, Beth Stafford (Warren) and Susen Williams (Bob), nieces and nephews, Kathy MacQuirter (Danny), Cindy Stafford Riley, and Tim Williams (Andrea), along with many great-nieces and nephews who fondly remember her guidance, support, and playful spirit.

A graduate of South Hall High School, Rita embarked on a successful career in the dental industry, earning respect and admiration for her dedication and expertise. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Rita's life was defined by adventure, community, and connection. She loved to travel, explore new cultures, and create memorable experiences for family and friends. She was always the planner, ensuring every trip, gathering, or event was unforgettable.

Rita was a gracious hostess, a skillful cook, and an enthusiastic game player. Cards and Rummikub were among her favorite pastimes, but her true joy came from feeding and nurturing those around her. Her home was a welcoming space where friends and family gathered to celebrate life, enjoy her cooking, and share in the warmth of her presence.

Service was central to Rita's life. She was a member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church, actively serving her congregation. She was also involved with Daughters of the American Revolution, building community and lasting friendships. Known for her outgoing personality, Rita was a social butterfly, always ready to meet new people and make them feel valued and welcome.

A celebration of her life will be held at Saint Paul United Methodist Church, 303 Washington St NW, Gainesville, GA 30501, at 11:00 AM on February 19, with a reception to follow in the fellowship hall.

Rita Katherine Tate's legacy of love, joy, and generosity will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a life well-lived, a family deeply loved, and a community forever enriched by her presence.
