Miss Rita Pauline Woodard passed away peacefully at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee on October 18, 2023. She was born on October 22, 1948, to the late Betty Stephens Baker and Edward Woodard.
She is preceded in death by her loving mother, Betty Stephens Baker; father, Edward Woodard; grandparents, Pauline Harrison Roy, Felix Stephens, Florence Woodard, Marion Woodard, and her great niece, Arica Hinson.
She is survived by her loving brothers and sisters; Ronald Woodard, Jerry Woodard (Shirley), Betty Carol Parnell (Charles), Tommy Baker, Milton Baker, Robert Baker (Trecia), and Denise McAllister (Rodney). Miss Woodard is also survived by her nieces and nephews; Lindsey Gagnon (David), Rodney Parnell (DeLana), Ronald Woodard Jr. (Dena), Reagan Jones, Christopher Woodard, Janice Hollandsworth (Jason), Sherry Montgomery (Ray), Jamie Hinson (Aric), Rachel James (Adam), James Robert Baker, Stephen Cosgrove (Kayla), Amanda Reed, Brian Baker and Jeremiah Baker.
Miss Woodard was a graduate from Cumberland High School. She was a long-term resident of the Life Care Center of Centerville, Tennessee and was a member of the Church of Christ. She had a passion for old gospel hymns, the simple pleasures of life including playing bingo, working word-search puzzles, The Wizard of OZ movie and The Price is Right television show. Her heart was filled with love and kindness for others. She will be greatly missed and always remembered.
The visitation will be at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home in Nashville, Tennessee on Friday, October 20, 2023, from 9:30am until the hour of service at 11:30am with Mr. Edward Short officiating. Burial will follow beginning at 12:30pm.
