RL Davis, a cherished member of his family and community, passed away on December 15, 2024, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 87. Born on February 8, 1937, in Nacogdoches, Texas, he grew up to lead a life marked by dedication and service.
He proudly served his country as a member of the US Navy, an experience that shaped his strong values and commitment to helping others. Following his military service, RL had a fulfilling career as an employee of the US Postal Service, where he built many lasting relationships with colleagues and customers alike, demonstrating a strong work ethic and a deep sense of community.
RL was a high school graduate who valued education and lifelong learning. His presence will be remembered fondly by those who had the pleasure of knowing him. He is survived by his daughter, Robin Davis-Richard, along with a son-in-law, other relatives, and friends who will carry his memory forward.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a viewing on January 23, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, located at 4155 South R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75224. Following the viewing, a funeral service will be held the next day on January 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas (Allene), with burial at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 1:00 PM.
RL Davis will be dearly missed, but his legacy of love and service will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.
