Robbie Cochran Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Birdsong Cremations on Feb. 5, 2026.
Robbie Cochran passed away in his home on January 30, 2026. He is survived by his daughter Sarah Jones, son-in-law Bradley Jones, and his four grandchildren, Dorian, Jordan, Charley and Parker.

He served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was the recipient of numerous military honors, including the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.

Robbie worked as a Kennel Master at Greyhound Pets of America beginning in 1992, and also spent time at the Noble Center and the Best Friends facility in The Woodlands. For more than three decades, he dedicated his life to understanding, protecting, and advocating for greyhounds. Learning everything he could about them and generously sharing that knowledge with anyone who cared to listen. The love, patience, and joy he gave to the greys, and so clearly received in return, was unmatched. He cared for the dogs he loved so dearly until his final day. A trusted mentor, steady presence, and true friend, Robbie was deeply respected and cherished by many in the greyhound community.

Robbie's passing leaves an immeasurable emptiness in the hearts of his family and friends, who loved him fiercely and will miss him beyond words. While the grief is profound, so too is the gratitude for a life lived with such purpose, kindness, and quiet devotion. His legacy lives on in every life he touched, human and hound alike.

This man was such a blessing to our greyhounds. But he had been my friend for over 25 years.
He will be missed by humans and hounds.
So many hounds has been waiting at the rainbow bridge to greet their best friend and master.
R.I.P. Robbie.
