Robbin E. Hutchins, 67, of Milford, passed away peacefully with her loved ones by her side at the Hope Hospice Center in Providence on December 2, 2025 after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer. Robbin struggled with a myriad of health conditions from birth, but she persevered and went on to become a standout in the nursing home social work field. While attending UMASS Amherst, Robbin helped create the gerontology program for others that were also interested in that specific branch of social work. After graduation, she went on to get her master's degree, which she put to use in her long career as a geriatric social worker in the Central Mass area. She retired in 2020 after many years at the former Beaumont Skilled Nursing Center in Northbridge. Robbin was always an old soul and that gave her a kindness, compassion and understanding which was shown in her work.
Robbin was beloved wife of Robert M. Hutchins for 34 years. Rob was steadfast by her side throughout this prolonged and complicated illness. Together, they raised their son, Jonathan Hutchins, of Milford. They loved the life they built together as a family. Robbin's family meant a lot to her. She was the first-born child of the late Robert H. Larson and the late Lucille (Robertson) Larson. She is survived by her siblings; Roger Larson (Cindy) of West Brookfield, Lianne Larson of Hopedale/Plymouth, Erik Larson of ME/FL, and Andrea Larson Ellsworth (Lee) of Milford. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Elizabeth Johnson (Harold). Robbin also leaves behind her many cherished aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Robbin had a deep-seated love for Nantucket , given to her by her mother, and one that took root throughout her life. The one spot that truly calmed her soul. On the island, she had a number of favorite spots and visited there as often as she could. Robbin loved planting flowers and cultivating a garden that she both enjoyed and took pride in.
