Richard P. Gregoire, a cherished family man and esteemed truck driver, passed away on November 23, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. Born on February 6, 1932, in Worcester, Richard lived a full and vibrant life that touched many.
Richard was the loving husband of the late Ruth M. (Akstin) Gregoire, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories and joy. Together, they raised a beautiful family and instilled values of love, laughter, and resilience. He is survived by his devoted daughter Kathryn and her husband James Ebbeling of Uxbridge, and his brother Leo Gregoire of Holland, MA. Richard was predeceased by his beloved son, Richard A. Gregoire, as well as his three brothers, Arsene, Edmund, and Raymond Gregoire, and his sister, Aline Lavallee.
Richard's legacy continues through his adoring grandchildren: Jillian, Lilli and her husband Jake, Elania and her husband Gary, and Ethan and his wife Stephanie. His spirit will forever be cherished by his great-grandchildren, Logan,Payton, Sonny and Lukas, who brought him immeasurable joy. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Throughout his career, Richard was a dedicated truck driver, known for his reliability and friendly demeanor. He worked for Nissen Bakery and C&S Wholesale Foods, and his commitment to his work was recognized by his long-standing membership in the Teamster's Union. His colleagues and friends within the union will remember Richard for his spirited conversations and his ever-present sense of humor.
A longtime resident of Grafton, Richard was known for his love of family gatherings, especially those involving his great-grandchildren, whom he adored. His early years were marked by joyful polka dancing with his wife, a hobby that brought them both much happiness. Richard was also an avid sports fan, cheering on the Boston Celtics and following the WNBA with particular admiration for player Caitlin Clark.
Those who knew Richard will remember him as a funny and spirited individual, always ready with a joke or a story to lighten the mood. His laughter was infectious, and his presence could brighten even the cloudiest of days. Richard's life was a testament to the joy that can be found in simple pleasures and the enduring strength of familial bonds.
