Susan L. (Hodgdon) DeWitte-allegedly 74, despite insisting for a decade that she was still 39-of Uxbridge, Massachusetts, passed away on November 14, 2025, at Milford Regional Medical Center.
Born in Melrose, Massachusetts, in 1951, she was the long-awaited daughter of Charles and Helen (Talbot) Hodgdon, who were overjoyed to finally welcome a girl after having five boys. Susan graduated from Marlboro High School before meeting and marrying a lovable goofball named Bruce E. DeWitte.
A charismatic firecracker, Susan always had a quick quip ready-especially in response to one of her husband's or sons' puns. She was loved by all, particularly by dogs and by anyone willing to hear her proudly talk about her boys. Susan enjoyed many of life's simpler pleasures: watching birds from her sunroom, crafting with her "crafty ladies," listening to her late husband's sermons at church, and settling in to people-watch wherever she could.
Susan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bruce E. DeWitte; her brothers, George Hodgdon and James Hodgdon; and her sister, Amy Silva-all of whom are surely delighted to be dealing with her antics once again.
She is survived by her brothers Thomas Hodgdon and wife Linda, of Danville, N.H., Peter Hodgdon and wife Trudy of Clarksville, Tennesee and Christopher Hodgdon of Rockhill, South Carolina her sisters Jacquelin Hodgdon and Sandra Hodgdon of Gardner, Maine and her sons: Russell B. DeWitte and his wife Anastasiya of Mendon, Massachusetts; David B. DeWitte and his wife Suzie of Chapin, South Carolina; and Daniel W. DeWitte and his wife Sarah of Litchfield, New Hampshire. She also leaves behind her treasured grandchildren-Zachary, Savannah, Connor, Evelyn, and Grayson DeWitte-who will miss her dearly and cherish the memories of her visits. She was sister of the late, George Hodgdon, James Hodgdon and Amy Silva
