MaryAnn Rose DeWitte, age 80 of Sanford, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at home with family by her side. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 20, 1944 to the late William and Alice (David) Jordan. While working at Manufacturers Bank, MaryAnn met the love of her life, Sylvain "Jim" DeWitte. They married on June 28, 1969 at St. David's Church in Detroit and shared 55 wonderful years together. MaryAnn was a devoted and loving mother to her daughter, Judith DeWitte. She was preceded in death by many aunts and uncles.
MaryAnn will be remembered as a people person, evident by the many hours she volunteered with both Senior Services and the Center for Woman's Health at My Michigan. She looked forward to every summer when she and her family would travel for family vacations. MaryAnn found joy in playing solitaire on her tablet, watching the Golden Girls, Reba, and other Hallmark Channel classics. In her spare time, reading was a favorite activity and she was a huge fan of Elvis Presley.
During her final months, she met and became like family with her caregivers, Kathy and Paul Veras. With love and compassion, Amara Hospice provided additional support to MaryAnn, her family and caregivers.
MaryAnn's funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Wilson Miller Funeral Home, 4210 N. Saginaw Rd. Midland, MI 48640. She will be laid to rest following the service at St. Agnes Cemetery in Sanford. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 – 8:00pm and on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service. The Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Friday.
