Robert E. Abbadini

Robert E. Abbadini, 82, of Brownsville, died Thursday, February 5, 2026, while in the care of Allegheny General Hospital. He was born June 6, 1943, a son to the late Albert and Sarah F. Perry Abbadini. Robert graduated from Beth-Center High School and went on to join the United States Army. Later, he would work at the J&L Steel Mill and at Vesta Mines as a coal miner. He retired from SCI Green County where he worked as a guard. In his free time, Robert was an avid golfer, enjoyed hunting, caring for his lawn and going to the Meadows. He was a member of the American Legion Post #705 of Centerville. On February 6, 1971 Robert married Kathleen Hoop, who survives, at the Taylor Methodist Church in Centerville. Also surviving are a son, Robert J. "Rob" Abbadini; nephews, Michael (Nicole) Mayer and Matthew (Samantha) Mayer; niece, Marissa (Nathan) Voytek; and several great-nieces and nephews. Deceased are sisters: Alberta Abbadini, Donna White and Emily Darney. Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, at the Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 10, at the Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home with Pastor Lori Walters officiating. Interment will follow in the Taylor Cemetery, 600 Old National Pike, Brownsville, PA 15417. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to a charity of one's choice.
