BEAVER DAM - Robert L. Abel, Sr., age 72 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.
Robert was born in Beaver Dam on January 6, 1953, the son of Virgil and Ruby (Dinkel) Abel. An avid outdoorsman, he found his greatest joy at his property up north, where he spent countless hours hunting and sharing that same passion with his sons. He also enjoyed boating and fishing on Beaver Dam Lake.
Robert had a lifelong love for motorcycles, often traveling the country with friends and was a proud lifetime member of the Beaver Dam Harley Owners Group chapter. He was also a dedicated lifetime member of the NRA, the Horicon Rod & Gun Club, and the Beaver Bowman.
A devoted Milwaukee Brewers fan, Robert rarely missed a game. His enthusiasm for baseball extended beyond watching where he gave back to the community as a coach for Beaver Dam Little League and Senior League.
He was a current member of Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church where his faith was an important part of his life.
Robert is survived by his children, Robert (Becky) Abel, Jr., of Beaver Dam and Thomas (Kelsey) Abel of DeForest; grandchildren, Arbor and Aylah; mother, Ruby Abel; siblings, Sandra Abel, Jay (Cynthia) Abel, and Jeffrey (Brenda) Abel, all of Beaver Dam; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Abel; and other relatives.
A memorial gathering for Robert will take place on Monday, October 13, 2025 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1 p.m.
