Robert Aiken Obituary

Robert "Bob" V. Aiken, 89, of Bridgeville, passed Wednesday, January 14, 2026, with his family and a close friend by his side. He was the husband of Pauline Eiler Aiken for 65 years, who survives. Also surviving Bob are son, Tim Aiken (Traci Mullins) of Sistersville, W.Va.; his stepgrandchildren, Allison Carse of Weirton, W.Va., and Matt Carse of Waianae, Hawaii; brother, Jim Aiken (Susie) of Garland, Texas; and sister-in-law, Lauren Eiler (Gary Lenox) of Phoenix, Ariz.; and several nephews. Bob was born May 5, 1936 to Vance and Betty Aiken of Midway. Bob served as an Airman First Class, 171st Support Squadron in the Air National Guard, the reserve of the U.S. Air Force. He then went on and worked for PNC Financial Services (previously Pittsburgh National Bank) for 42 years in various areas of responsibility, including a stint as chairman and CEO of the Hershey Bank, Hershey (a PNC Affiliate). Bob was also a graduate of the prestigious Stonier Graduate School of Banking. Bob was an avid sports fan and enjoyed his retirement years by hunting, fishing, golfing and watching football at all levels. Bob and Pauline enjoyed dining out with friends, and the years spent with their beloved animals. Bob especially loved his time hunting with Tim and their circle of hunting friends at Hills Run Camp in Tyler County, W.Va., and in Warren and Greene counties. There will be no viewing or formal service, per Bob's wishes. An informal Remembrance Ceremony will be held at Hills Run Camp in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Battlefield Trust, P.O. Box 1751, Merrifield, VA 22116. Please add or view tributes at www.beinhauer.com
