Robert "Rob" Dennis Alanzo Adams, 16, of Farmington, IA passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024, due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. As were Rob's wishes, cremation has taken place. A time to gather and share memories with family will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at the Van Buren County High School Gymnasium. A brief memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. with burial to be held in the Hillsboro Cemetery immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rob's honor may be directed to the family and mailed to P.O. Box 11, Farmington, IA 52626. Friends may leave online condolences at www.cranstonfamilyfuneralhome.com.
Rob's early education began at Harmony and then transitioned to Fairfield from 4th through 8th grade. His pursuit of excellence continued at Van Buren, whereas a dedicated student, Rob found his passion for sports and academics. Rob was not afraid to stand out and put in the work to make a difference at anything he set his mind to. He was committed and pushed himself to achieve every task he set out to complete. A multisport athlete, he excelled in football, basketball, archery, track, and baseball, proudly standing as an all-academic team member in each. The proudest event in Rob's life was when his final report card came in the mail with straight A's with a 4.0 GPA. All he could say was "Someone take a picture and send it to Matt Jones." His dedication was evident not only on the field and in school but also in his role as an employee at the Jet Stop in Bonaparte, where he was known for his strong work ethic and infectious smile.
Rob was an avid gamer and would participate in the gaming world of PS4 with his friends. He spent countless hours in the batting cages of Farmington, perfecting his swing alongside his sister. Rob's incredible sense of humor and his ability to light up any room will be deeply missed by his family, his community, and the many friends he made along the way.
As we bid farewell to Robert "Rob" Dennis Alanzo Adams, we are reminded of the impact one soul can have in just sixteen short years of life. His memory will forever inspire us to approach life with passion and to pursue our dreams.
Rob was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert Hoaglin, Toni Holt, and Peter Adams.
Rob was the son of Barbara and Jermaine Adams of Coralville, IA, and the beloved grandson of George and Linda Kennedy of Farmington, IA. His memory will be treasured by his siblings Jeremy Adams, JaBaarie Hoaglin, Izayha Adams, Armoney Adams, Izalique Adams, J.J. Adams, and Imunique Adams, as well as his very special aunts, Elizabeth Brown and Brandi Sporkman; two best friends, Ethan Cochenour and Kenneth Houston, as well as many extended family, his community, and the many friends he made along the way.
